Digg Shoutwire

How many of you are using it, and how much success have you had with those?

For those who are not familiar:

Tel us how much traffic you get from it and I'm sure more people will start doing it.

Those two are very good marketing techniques.

I got a blog entry on the front page about a month ago and still today I get traffic from it.

The main benefits is not so much the traffic (well, yes ) but all the other links you get as a result from a front page digg listing. My entry was only on the front page for about 2 hours and in total I got from that links from 37 different unique web sites.

I wrote about it here: http://www.jimwestergren.com/did-a-test-with-diggcom/

A very interesting theory that randfish has brought up is that these kind of things breaks a domain loose from the sandbox.

I tried to simulate the above with a new site I launched with a new domain and I instantly added thousands of links and from high PR pages - the result? Google banned the domain.

So, it has to be natural and digg, shoutwire, furl, delicous, slashdot etc. are natural.

Here is an excellent brand new article from Randall McCarley that I haven't had the time to study yet.

Yeah, be the first one to find something news worthy and make an opinionated comment on it You will get a lot of responses within your digg file - many will be bad, but those won't hurt you. It will help you get supporters to reply to you and digg you even more

Also dramatize without going overboard when it comes to creating a title.

http://tech.msn.com has some cool new stuff, it all depends on how you present it.
