Is Facebook trying to become the Internet?

Facebook is just a social network and its possible that what happened for Myspace, repeats for Facebook too. You know that one day Myspace was very famous but now it has nothing to say against Facebook and Twitter. Maybe some years later another social network becomes more famous. Nothing is predicable is this fast growing business.

I think the possibilities are enormous for FB, it is just matter of time when they will take a turn into some serious internet business, like Google did. The only difference is that FB is doing things more serious and they learn from other's mistakes, they don't rush, and have straight forward policy, which brought them such popularity.

facebook is popular like google. But facebook needs more time and knowledge to compete google.

Facebook is best social networking site and i don't think it trying to become internet. and if it is yes then it has to be face a big competition with google.

Yes, I feel that Facebook has maximum of audience which can create a separate country itself. With facebook getting merged with microsoft bing, I feel these both have a lot of in their kitty.

before when we opened the browser,the first was google,but now people tend to set facebook instead of google,that means facebook has developed like unique and indenpent internet ,thats why google+ comes out

I beg to disagree, every computers have their own homepage, it could be blank, it could be v7n, it could be Google, it could be Facebook, it could be any website a user wish, depends on what the user mostly, frequently visits. By saying so, your claim is not true and cannot come into conclusion for sure. Right?

It seems some people here are keep on comparing Google and Facebook, and always relating Google+ when we talk about Google (as search engine)? Duh? They are different thing, different specialty. Google is for general searching and for information providing, no exemption whatever website have that info, whether friend or competitor website. Obivously we cant say its true..Fb becomes an addict to every individual as its just an entertainment..Google is the only powerful search engine which can also be said as " King of internet"

It is true that now people has be dependent on google to find the solution but it also true that people also has be addicted for the FB as for the entertainment and also to meet their friend and to talk with them. So personally i would not say for anyone as the whole internet. As not only the google but people also do lot of things on the internet and as more the social network. So i do not want to consider the google as the whole internet and nor the FB.

Facebook has been really addictive which makes more and more people get hooked at it but it cannot be the entire net. Other sites like Google is in fact much more significant and valuable than Facebook.

Facebook just spent a billion dollars on buying another company or let's say a competitor which was a great move.

FB isn't going to be a pile of poop because they have investors to please and make them money.
