Will Google+ work for your business?
When I logged in to my G+ account, one of my friends posted this.
Before you comment YES, NO or any reaction, read the article first.
Quote:
SmartPulse — our weekly nonscientific reader poll in SmartBrief on Social Media — tracks feedback from leading marketers about social media practices and issues.
Last week in a post on Google+, Larry Page opened for business Google’s latest leap into social networking, Google+ Pages. In the announcement blog post, Google SVP of engineering Vic Gundotra wrote now you can “build relationships with all the things you care about — from local businesses to global brands.” Gundotra continued, “The initial launch of Google+ Pages brings us a little bit closer [to our vision], but we’ve still got lots of improvements planned.”

Since I was unable to find a link I can't comment on the article, but I would still like to answer your question.
I believe Google+ Pages will be a part of our business plan. While Facebook will remain the leader in social media marketing for the foreseeable future, Google + provides a superior platform for our internal communications and sharing with associates and established clients.
As + Pages further intergrates Google applications I foresee us employing + Pages more and more.

I think that it also depends on the ability of Google to make its Google+ viral. The more people Google attracts the more interesting it might look for marketers.

Indeed it's hard for small businesses to withstand the competition to big players. But the thing is, Google+ is there to have another medium of web presence. Though small or established business are all around, for me what matters most is you are there.

Sorry I forgot the link. Maybe that's why there's no so much response yet. Thanks for reminding me. Sir snakeair already added the link, kudos to him.
I also love Google+'s way providing communication, my friend told me they are using Google+ as their way of chatting / conference.

Good thing is people are now aware of Google+, but not everyone esp. those who are not in IT field. I have asked my friend if they know Google+, I got same response "What is it?". LOL

I bet they would integrate G+ rates into search mechanics. I could hardly believe they hadn't done that from the very beginning.

Our G+ Page is just new so I don't see any impact yet to our business. For me, I think it's better to be there for you to have additional channel or medium to build your online presence.

Here's the thing, when people do connect with the business' social pages, one usually shows that they support the business or want to keep in touch with it. While two social pages to connect with is either the customer wants to have it in their list of interest or they're a fan. But having three social pages to maintain and keep tracks too maybe too much and becomes redundant.

It will work I think because the same thing has worked very effectively with Facebook hasn't it?
However the thing to be noticed is that whether Google plus will be able to get huge user base like Facebook or not!

They already have.
I always have to logout or switch browsers to get the generic search results.

Is Creating A Google+ Brand Page Worth Your Time?
Instead of creating a new thread, I'd thought i would post this blog post in here to discuss also with the thread creators linked blog post.
Is Creating A Google+ Brand Page Worth Your Time?
Quote:
Social networking is quickly becoming one of the most popular platforms for business advertisement, because it is one of the most effective. Some businesses are eager to jump on every new network available. However, it can become a logistical nightmare to manage several social accounts; keeping them up-to-date, relevant, and effective.
Therefore, many are not eager at all to join yet another social network. So, is Google+ Pages worth your time?

What do you base that on? I understand it's an opnion, but any traffic stats to back it up?

I understand that Google+ shares and Brand Pages are now taking up space on the Results pages - and since there is limited geography, that certainly has an impact on SERPs, as it may serve to push some results onto the next page or below the fold, but is there any evidence that Brand pages have any impact on the position of the website connected with the Page?

Google+ looks very, very promising at the moment. We are just about to test it against other platforms that we currently use. I shall keep forum users up to date with any data we find. Only time will tell.

G+ is bound to work for businesses, otherwise it is to be immediately defeated by FB. No business to be conducted through a social network = useless social network
