Is Pinterest going to be useful?

I have an account with Pinterest and I see that it is starting to get a decent amount of traffic.

The question is, is it a gimmick or will it be useful for SEO or traffic?

I helped a friend start a food blog and the photos of her food were posted on pinterest. Her traffic has more than doubled. Who doesn't want to click on picture of a chocolate chip cookie?

There is no doubt about it, from a business point of view it's 'useful' already.

It's driving more traffic to our clients sites than Facebook and Twitter combined and as the popularity increase that's sure to keep improving.

I would say though, that it only really 'works; if you share others content as well as your own.

I've recently signed up and hope to get much from using Pinterest. I really enjoy browsing through other pinboards and finding lots of cool info. Although this network is targeted mostly at female audience, I think this fast growing network has great prospects of becoming a very popular and active community.

Yes, it will have good value right now. I can only get on the waiting list for an invitation right now and I had heard it was getting more real time results than Twitter. That level of exposure can be beneficial to all across most industries.

Pinterest is going viral these days. I think it'll be a hit, especially for crafting or visually appealing business. Pin it buttons are already available on blog posts and other article submission directories.

Yes, PInterest is growing rapidly and can be the next big thing in social media. Already there are lot of ebooks and services related to Pinterest, SEO techniques, even gigs on fiverr. And I heard some success stories by marketers who are implementing PInterest in their camapigns.

As you are already getting traffic using Pinterest, I suggest you keep improving your camapigns, try other techniques along with it, test, scale, etc.

Actually I'm on a test right now with my blog and pictures. So far, haven't got a traffic from Pinterest. Testing will be more or less 2 months.

Most bloggers are talking about this already and I believe it can be a very potent marketing tool. But you will have to use it differently than you would other social media platforms. Like for instance, in Facebook if you want to let people know about a product you have you can just make a post about it. In pinterest you'll have to use a little creativity and imagination. So say, if you're selling dog accessories, what you can do is post pictures of different dogs using it and you can show via pictures how that accessory can be used. But a word of caution, you shouldn't appear to overly zealous about marketing in pinterest.

I have not looked into Pinterest just yet but I have read quite a number of raving reviews of mommy bloggers who just loved it. It's going to be interesting to see how companies are going to utilize it for their marketing campaigns.

From my experience overall it is great for seo, but its hard to get a good amount of following users but once you have it you can get a great amount of traffic from it ..
