Stumbleupon Rolls Out A Few Changes

Some new changes to be on the look out for.

Quote:
We have been watching Stumbleupon a lot lately as it continues to roll out minor changes to the site. Just last week, Kairay Media pointed out how the Social Networking site added search capabilities to segments of the site, like user search to find your friends in Stumbleupon.

Today, we have noticed another interesting addition to the Stumbling process. Stumbleupon has added a new feature that recommends sites that you have been stumbling on frequently based on your Stumbling history. It seems that if you end up stumbling onto a site multiple times, Stumbleupon will now....

Any feedback on these changes?

I may stumble this thread.

"Recommending sites that you've been stumbling" feature seems to be a good one. I think this can help webmasters or social media marketers to increase more their exposure on stumbleupon and drive more traffic to their sites. The more people like their links a few times, the more people can see more links from their sites.

Stumbleupon is getting better, seriously it's starting to really roll the dice with reddit!

I don't use Reddit because other members tend to vote down content from not so famous websites. Sometimes the content is actually really good but it's hard to get a good first page wonder with ton's of traffic all the time.

I've had better luck with Stumble and tend to get a few hits as soon as I submit content there. Also, I like what Stumble is doing now with all the changes they have made over the last few years.

The main problem I've found with these sites is the un-targeted traffic. I can get a god number of visits, but always with a high bounce rate.

Looking at Google Analytics stats over the last 4 months, the bounce rate and time on site from Stumbleupon traffic have been getting much better for me.

Could be the way they are being tracked, I am not sure but I am seeing an improvement with the traffic at least staying around a while.

Reddit sends OK traffic but terrible quality (for me). I have slowed down using it as well.

That's true, StumbledUpon has been getting me better traffic than Reddit. Not more traffic, but a lower bounce rate and slightly more page views. I think once I figure it out a little more, it might prove to be quite useful.
