Weird tweets

I was in my dashboard stats, and noticed an unusual green button... Said my blog had been mentioned recently.

I'm not sure why there's no direct links to these mentions...

Using google, I eventually tracked these mentions to twitter, where a list of people had tweeted a recent post.

Problem is, they're all accounts that have thousands of tweets, followers, following, but no interactivity that I can tell.

Normally, I would consider these accounts to be sockpuppets.

The question is this...
Do these accounts help the posts that they tweet?

I certainly didn't get any traffic from there.

I don't think that it has hurt you any, but it probably didn't help you either.

But then what's the use of them....They are just the unwanted crap. Moderators need to stop those account usage. And users need to stop following them.
