Website Stats

I have had my website for about 3 years and the number of hits versus number of visitors has always been about 3 or 4 to 1. Over the last 2 weeks, the ratio has been almost exactly 1 to 1. The number of visitors has remained steady, but the number of hits has dropped dramatically. Now I realize hits is a pretty meaningless statistic, but I'm just trying to figure out whether there is something wrong with either my website or the logs I'm getting from my host.

Can somebody offer me a theory as to why this is happening?
