My new portable mp3 player

I just bought a new mp3 player that was on sale at Radio Shack for only 20 bucks! They said that after a while the price would go back up to 70. This is the first portable mp3 player I've ever bought. I heard about the ipods but Ive always been a cd guy. Well my portable cd player broke so that was when I decided to try buying a mp3 player. I didn't want anything too fancy, just something that worked and could get the job done.

I bought a gigaware mp3 player (here's the one I bought): http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3268772

I found online that it was getting reviews that said it was almost or just as good as an ipod. Just without the fancy look and fancy name. I like it so far, just I'm having a big problem maybe someone here can solve it. I have some mp3 files that I want to play in a particular order. But every time I hook the thing up to the USB slot of my computer and drag files one at a time, they never play back in the same order. How can I get the files to play back in the order that I drag and drop them?

Thanks in advance.

Does it support folders or playlists? Years ago, I used to have a Creative MP3 player that would let you sort and organize songs in folders. Your's might do something similar.

It will allow me to put other files or folders on it, but they won't show up in the menu screen. Only mp3 files will show. But they don't place them in the order I load them in. So what do you mean organize files in a folder? How would per say a Michael Jackson track play before a Biggy Smalls track? If I load a MJ track in first then Biggy, it always shuffles the tracks where Biggy may play before MJ.

Yep, looks like a winner for 20 bucks to me. I paid 30 buck for a zen stone and I love it, it is small and it works, I don't need a touch screen and video screen on my mp3 player, but I am sure some do...LOL

Hey guys, I figured out how to get my songs to play in the order I wanted. YES -this rocks! I'll share it with you, if anyone ever decides to get one or buy one as a Christmas gift.

This is what I did. First, I made a separate folder on my computer to dump all my mp3 music files in. At least all the ones I wanted to add to my player. Then, once they were all in the folder I figured out what order I wanted the files to play in. I wrote them down e.g. Michael Jackson - 1st, Biggy - 2nd, 2Pac - 3rd, Linkin Park - 4th, etc.

After I wrote all this down, all I did was rename each file. I renamed Michael Jackson's song to Track 1, Biggy's to Track 2, 2Pac's to Track 3, Linkin Park's to Track 4, etc. Then I right clicked in the folder to arrange files by name. This listed all the newly named files in the correct order. Then after that, all I had to do was select all files and copy and past them into my mp3 player USB drive.

Thank God, they're all finally in the right order!
