IE8 RC1 released
Well, the web developer's nightmare is back! IE8 RC1 is now available for download from MicroSoft.
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...available.aspx
I've already seen comments about improper page rendering, so I fear we will still be dealing with a browser that does things just a little bit differently.
Lovely...
Unlike Google Chrome beta, this release doesn't excite me much. I'll wait for the IE8 stable release. Even then I will only install it out of necessity,

It is true a nightmare .
Web developers used to consider browser compliant between FF2/3, IE6/7 .
Now IE8 is released . The bad is web developer can't switch between IE6 , IE7 and IE8 to test cross browser compliant.

Well technically, it's not a release, it's a release candidate. And it seems to work fine for me so far. If there are problems rendering a page, you can always turn on compatability mode.

That ok, I think I'll pass. I like my browsers like I like my computers - secure.
FireFox FTW.

Chrome is my latest choice, but as a good designer I'll end up trying all the browsers.

Just for the record, the words "bug free" and "internet explorer" do not go well together. That is like trying to get oil and water to mix together. It just dont work.

Unless they prove that there's a major improvement, I don't see there's a reason to switch to IE. Previous experience using older version shows that there's just too many bugs.

Same here. I use the IE only sparingly and FF is my preferred browser

Been using it, want to make sure my stuff is compatable -
just today I was visiting a site daytonahelmets.com - it crashes IE8 - hmmmmm started looking at the code - it has to do with a redirect code they are using conflicting with the new security features in IE8.
I want to make sure that noone is eliminated from looking at a site I've put up. So I installed IE8. Since 90 - 95 % of surfers (depending on the product or service) use IE, I want to stay ahead of the game, I use IE to make sure stuff works. FF has it's uses - but not for business.
