Motives of a forum

What are the motives of a froum?

I believe tthese are
1. Learning by experiences of each other. (best part)
2.Platform for conversations.(good usually)
3.A business place sometimes. (interaction, offers and impressions works many times)
4. Link building place ( quite less helpful, but much interested part for people usually)

So what do you people think....especially moderators

I think that "forum" shouldn't be spelled "froum".

(And that there must be a better place to put this thread, but I can't think of where...)

I think spelling matters more to you rather than the question. Great disappointment again. "cricket" knows it well.

I think 'motives' is the wrong word to use, perhaps 'purpose' would be better. If your question was about the purpose of a forum, then I would have to answer that it depends on the forum and the person who started it.

And I agree, spelling is important, else misunderstandings abound.

And it is fair to say, life would be so much easier if you don't wind up the mods
