FLV files won't play on my computer

Whenever I download a FLV file it ends up looking like this:

How come they aren't working? My OS is Windows Vista in case that helps.

Vista then

Install "a" FLV player (there are many free ones)
If it doesn't associate it automatically -

Start
Control Panel
Default programs
Associate a file type or protocol with a program
Scroll down the list - find the file type you wish to change

There are lots of flv players out there. FLV file is high quality, but it has a big file size.

You know what guys?! I tried all of that stuff and when it was all said and and done... It worked! Yes, yes, yes! Finally it worked! I was starting to think it would never work. Thank you! I'd give you all a hug and and a firm handshake if you were within physical range.
