How To Make a Simple Password - Unhackable for 580 million years!
Quote:
I want to bring more emphasis on our number one tip - Strong Passwords. The effectiveness of security of increasing the length of a password by just one more letter, symbol or number grows in a very, VERY steep exponential rate.
In other words, for every extra digit you add on to you password you triple, quadruple or even 5x the different possibilities. The longer the password, the more effort required to discover it. However, longer passwords also means more difficult it is for users to remember it.

What's your password? I mean, are you using strong password? Do you change your password regularly?
Edited: Added an image from the source.

are you a hacker? asking for our passwords. lol. just kidding.
i usually construct a password with letters only, but i observed before, others can easily guess it even my little nephew. so what i did was, i set up a password with a good combination of letters and special characters with a minimum of 8 char. bad thing it caused me such agitation coz sometimes its hard for me to remember it once i retrieve.

Crawler, if you have Microsoft Office, try using OneNote to store your password in. It works slick.
I use it also to store client data, sql passwords, cms admin passwords, and cpanel words for each clients domain. Each domain has it's own tab, it's organized and very nice.
micoblanco, I've been planning to get in touch with a number of my clients and convince them to tighten their passwords. Would you mind if I used your little stats image there?

Well, that image is not mine.. but I guess there's no big deal if you're going to use it as a reference to convince your clients to tighten up their passwords and besides, it's for their own good. Just don't forget to mention the source.

Yah. In fact he's only 12 years old. But then he didn't win on cheating as i do a very quick type. He never had a chance to fancy me again with those "eye-hacking" tricks.

^ Haha I think he's currently retrieving all the data from the key-logger that he installed yesterday on your PC and by this time, he's probably changing your password or doing some prank things to your accounts. I like your nephew... he's awesome!

Well I guess that depends if your 12-14 password contains your name and/or surname with a couple of numbers at the beginning or end (usually it's the birth date for some people).

I always add a number at the end of my password. You are very right there micoblancong pogi. It increases the strength of the whole password because possible combination is increased, making it harder for a hacker to crack.

The most important in making passwords is that you CAN remember it...

I always use passwords that start with high digits so that brute forcers will have to take a long time to get around to them, and then I change them to use low starting digits so that the brute forcers will have already passed them, next I post about what I do in a public place so that brute forcers will catch on and start in the middle, that way I can start my passwords with just below medium digits and the brute forcers will still have to come back around from the end, and last but not least, I snicker as I think about the social engineer who just wasted precious seconds reading a rope-a-dope post.

My hotmail account got hacked with a virus and my password was very simple. I've changed it up with numbers.
