Does anyone know if it's possible to...
run an aplication that's connected to the internet but not through a browser through a proxy. For example a downloadable game with an online multiplayer option? If so, how? Thanks.

First of all, thanks for the red, noob. Secondly, learn to spell patronizing if you're going to use it. Thirdly, I read and answered your question.
You asked for "downloadable game with an online multiplayer option". Then asked if that was "possible". It's not only possible, it's probably happening on your computer!

I asked if it was possible to run it through a proxy. And the best you can come back with is a spelling mistake. Try reading lessons.

Guys there is method calling socksify or proxify where you force application to run through proxy server or socks server.
You need programs like Widecap (still development), Sockscap (not anymore development), Freecap (not anymore development) or Proxycap.
Then you need to find good working SSl proxy servers or socks server and simple follow process to force appz to run behind proxy or socks servers.
Whole process with comments and pictures is explained on
http://www.proxyblind.org/pictorial_...tutorial.shtml onder header Socksify your appz using SocksCap - Tutorial with pictures!!

You can force application to run behind proxy only with special program that will force that program to use proxy.
Here will not help any addons but spec. programs to proxify / socksify applications like Widecap, Sockscap, Freecap, Proxycap.

Tor works by passing the data through numerous different servers or nodes, so that it is all but impossible (in theory) to track the source IP address.
More info here:

If you get a program called "Hotspot Shield" that you install on your computer then it will allow you to do pretty much anything behind a proxy like connection. There's a free version too.
