Since we released Chrome for Mac in beta last December, we've been busy adding new features. Today, after some incubation in the developer channel, we're happy to make some of these features more widely available. The new beta release of Chrome for Mac offers extensions, bookmark sync, and more.

With this new version, you'll be able to install any of over 2,200 extensions...

There is also a beta for Windows but not sure if it's the same version, it can be downloaded here: http://www.google.com/landing/chrome/beta/

I'm quite excited about extensions on Chrome because I need a more lightweight browser for my laptop with extension support, it doesn't perform very well with the latest versions of Firefox.

Though I'll stick to FF on the PC, I haven't found anything that beats it

Chrome is making a promising showing. If they can get good plugin and extension support a la Firefox, they might become the dominant browser in a couple years time. Until then, though, I'm sticking with trusty old Firefox.
