our webmaster died and all info with her. help!

our webmaster died suddenly and NOBODY has a clue what to do. i know the site of the page, but don't know who hosts it, any administrator passwords, etc. i don't even know where to start.

can anyone give us tips?

First of all, the website must be in your will. If you don't have the will, then you can't do it or upload it.

This is my own information.

pretty sure he has some information saved in his files.
ask someone who hired him for he may have some info

1. Look up your domain name in the WHOIS records. http://allwhois.com/ This will show where your site is hosted and who the contact for the site is. <-- Hopefully you!

2. If everything is registered to you then it would be a matter of logging into the different services.

3. Someone looking after the affects of the webmaster should be able to find your info in their stuff if you can't solve this yourself. It has to be somewhere. They can't remember every client's login info.

Lesson learnt: Keep records of everything for you site yourself.
