A Good Laptop?
Hi, I just bought a laptop which is Acer 4830TG with these specs:
http://www.acer.com.ph/ac/en/PH/cont...l/LX.RGM02.031
Is this a good one? Did I make a good choice?
Thanks in advance!

Looks good but do your self a favor and load the OS from scratch, Acer puts loads of crap you will never need and sap power from processing. I bought a Acer Aspire One netbook and the thing almost couldnt boot with all the crap on it. I reloaded the OS and added an extra gig of ram and its 100% better although its 1.6 single core
yours should be fine

I hate HP and Dell. I don't have good experiences with my previous laptops with them lol
Anyway, I need a laptop with windows OS so I can't buy Mac. Also, I have already bought the laptop. Thank God everyone agrees that it's a good one
Thanks for your opinions!

Seeing as Alienware are a subset of Dell and geared towards gaming it's hardly surprising if the choice is for work and not gaming.

I would go with that model there. Also, check out HP, and Dell with like configurations. I have a number of laptops ... and besides Mac, HP, and Dell are great, and priced well too.
Hope this helps!

I think that the main purpose is for you like this laptop. But as for me I like this rather powerful and effective machine. Sure nowadays Dell and HP are the most popular ones, but I also like budget and not fashionable stuff.

Acer is a good choice. HP has problem with its battery backup and many hardware problems.. Dell is good but not having good looks if you go for low cost laptops.
I have been using Vaio from the last three years.. this is a very good choice if anyone wants to buy a laptop. it is affordable, having good configuration, many software integrated in it. no back up problem and also having genuine OS.
