I would like to suggest you NOD32 antivirus.
It has too many features like online protection, outlook protection etc and the main thing is it use very low system resource.

After testing out a lot, I decided on Norton. Though it was good, i felt it was hogging system resources. Finally have settled on Mcafee now which is very lightweight, so to say and effective

some of the top security hackers actually don't use any antivirus software since it is ineffective.

Interesting. Rutkowska looks as a bit disappointment with AV technology using signature + heuristic ".'m not very satisfied with the existing commercial solutions because I know how easy it is to create malware to bypass them all".
But still say "Of course, I'm still aware that it's not enough, as somebody can embed a very reliable and "silent" zero-day exploit for my .TXT editor in some README file. Or that they can find a bug in my Wi-Fi driver. Or an attacker can inject an exploit for my browser after setting up a man-in-the-middle attack in a hotspot at the airport.

So, from time to time, I might run some custom tools of mine to check the integrity of my system or start Wireshark to see what my traffic looks like. "

Not wonder to hear it from someone who created a stir at the Black Hat Briefings when she demonstrated a way to infect Windows Vista with a rootkit and introduced Blue Pill, a new concept that uses AMD's SVM/Pacifica virtualization technology to create '100 percent undetectable malware'.

But i'm sure the AV company will find ways in future to protecting against this type of attack too. That;s way Black Hat conferences exist. To find out where the AV guys have left off.
Cat-Mouse game.

AVG or AVAST (Free versions) work just fine... I've used AVG since it came out and have had good luck with it, tho once in a while there are "False Positives"...

The big problem is that the Viruses hit the Net and usually have hit a few computers before the Anti Virus Companies can come up with a fix...

Use NOD32 it is better than AVG.. avg is very annoying. it doesn't remove the virus but always pop-up when it detects. even you clean it then afterwards it will pop again...And it is free

Here is the download link

What a joke. Best AV is always chosen on basis of detection and not because someone like one or another AV.

I vote no on Norton. It never picks up everything and has messed up my compurter before. MaAfee is better.
