Sex without condom and browsing web without anti virus software is same. But using both has side effect too. So whatever anti virus software you use, there is no guarantee that your computer will be not attack by spy ware or virus. So, the best solution is not to browse useless sites specially porn, and warez related sites, all anti virus software works in same way.

I prefer Norton Antivirus.
It's what i've been using on my computer.
It's not my choice, i got used to it since it was pre-installed on factory default of my computer.

I don't think we need to spend on antivirus. Avira is good enough for all the necessary functions.

I don't like spending money on antivirus programs either so I run AVG and it works like a charm. If anyone wants to know what's some other good ones and a quick review of it, here's a list of the top antivirus software on the market.

We have Norton go-back and Panda system on our home machine and McAfee on my work machine. Both seem to work pretty well, but the Go-back has saved our butts quite a few times.

There are many good anti virus out there in the market such as Kaspersky, NOD32, McAfee, Norton, AVG, Avira, Avast and other antivirus.. I have used all of the antivirus that I have mentioned.. well they are good in some ways.. but there are some downsides like McAfee.. based on my experience using McAfee its ok but it consume large amount of memory that leads to hanging (poor performance or lag) of the PC.. same to norton.. in AVG I didn't like the protection that AVG offer because some viruses just pass on AVG's protection and sometimes the virus shutdown the AVG.. Kaspersky is a good antivirus but you must renew your subscription every 6 months (I think) well good protection but it sucks out your money every 6 months(not to mention the irritating screaming sound when it detects a virus)..NOD 32.. is ok but like AVG some viruses escapes and eventually run rampant on your PC..as for Avira.. its ok for a free version.it detects virus but not spy wares.(I haven't tried the full version).. and lastly the Avast.. well IMO, Avast is a nice antivirus.. In some way i get irritated when it detects a virus.. you can hear a voice that say "CAUTION a virus has been detected!!".(nuclear launch detected sound effect included)..
I currently use Avast pro..
antivirus software are good as long as you update it.
