I'm happy with Kaspersky.
It gives solid protection using low PC resources.

I used to have a complimentary subscription of McAfee and I fell in love with it. Once that subscription ended I just chose AVG Free and it works like a charm

Originally I didn't want to mess with free when it came to virus protection, but Avira and AVG seem to be very good programs

Speaking of Macafee I find it annoying. Why? Heres the story, One day when I was working on a program my client lend me some laptop to wok on and it has a Macafee anti virus. I intentionally rushed to finish the job just to play warcraft on that laptop and when I install my warcraft from my usb to that laptop, I cant open the game because my clients IT set the war3.exe to a virus threat in that freaking Macafee and I dont know the password to fix it.

I am using Avast antivirus for over 2 years on several computers and never had any problem. Always warn me upfront about any problematic site before this site was uploaded or any strange mail comes to my mail box.

Before that I have many problem with viruses.

I can strongly recommend Avast antivirus.

A friend of mine has tried for Avast installation. But it didn't work.
I need to find the possible reason.

Doesn't really sound to me like your issue should be with Macafee, though I do find them to be resource vampires

I don't recommend Symentic. It slows down the PC.

I use Norton which has worked very well - used the Comcast McAfee and got a virus 1 hour later which trashed my computer and had to do a low level format to remove the thing.

I honestly prefer Avast over all other virus protection software. Seems to me like Avast stops stuff that others can't

McAfee is the best best solution for the antivirus. Once you install this feel free from all hazards of virus attack.
