There is NO best anti virus program, Period, anti virus program is only has nice as the last known viruses and being that there's something like 1000 viruses sent out every day the chances of getting a new virus is high. By the time the anti virus companies have found the new viruses, and wrote a new anti dote for it days.or weeks have passed and everybody has already got the virus.

I would recommend ESET NOD32 for your problems. Been using it for a couple of months now and all I can say is it's smooth sailing always.

Antivirus is really pointless if you know what you are doing and I think it's 5 or 6 years now that I'm not using any and never had problems, but I still have Malwarebytes just to scan my PC 1 time a month to be sure.

I hate AVG. I have been using Avast. No Anti-virus is perfect. Just becareful on what you click on the net, be alert of any strange behaviors on your pc all the time. "Hijackthis" is the best when it comes to remove any spyware/adware. But you will have to paste the log in a forum as common people will not be able to read the log.

I'm an Avast user too, and I haven't got any problems yet. I also use SMAD-AV, its an software created by Indonesians and it also helps protect my PC.

I prefer anti-virus like Kaspersky or Nod32 or free softwares like Avast and Avira.

I Use AVG combined with MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials

So far worked great, detected a few trojans for me too!

Thinking about switching to a paid one though..
