I've noticed most of my visitors use IE, but I use FF. Mostly for the tabs, adsense, and PR toolbar, but I believe all of which are either available now or will be shortly for ie.

FF... once I switched I finally realized all the crap that IE was loading on my system when I didn't even know it. FF is more secure.
If IE could fix it's holes and use reall css standards, I'd probably use it again.

It has. IE7 Beta 2 has the best of both worlds. Especially standard compliant rendering more so than even FF that has the odd hole too!

Thats becuase its still in beta and crashes silly oh and the fact everyone hates M$ anyway. As far s rendering is concerned it looks spot on impressive in my limited experience.

I use Firefox for 99% of my surfing. I love the tabs and the fact pop-up blocking is on by default. (IE does this too with XP SP2 but I am still on Windows 2000).
For sites that appear to be written specifically for IE, I use Maxthon. It uses the IE engine, so you still have to run the Windows updates regularly, but it has provided tabbed browsing and pop-up blocking for years, without having to wait for IE7. Plus it has way more options than I know what to do with.
For testing websites, I also keep Opera up to date, but rarely use it. The last time I used it regulary, it crashed too much.
Regards,
Duncan

I got a buddy that's been using Maxthon for a while. He swears by it for ease of use and options. I just converted him to FF for casual browsing.

IE for me - but when IE7 comes out I'll be shifting to FF simply because IE 7 sucks.

It always amazes me when a designer/developer needs a "developer tool" to fix something they wrote. If you wrote it shouldn't you know how to fix it? Anyways, that's another topic altogether.
If you are a developer/designer you need to use the browsers your visitors are using. It may require that you check your sites in IE, FF, Netscape, Safari and yes AOL. That's if you want to be truly browser compatible. While many have a preference (as do I) you are pretty much stuck using all of them. As far as security is concerned. ALL BROWSERS have security flaws. Yes, even FF and Safari. As many have said, keep your PC/MAC up to date with all the patches.
If 90% of your traffic is using IE, it would make sense to use IE the majority of the time. If the majority of it is FF then use that. Based on my client base most corporate users use IE. Many college students and many developers tend to prefer FF. While many home users still use AOL.
I have 1 site that the majority use IE and another that the majority use AOL. Know your target audience and cater to them. I've actually have had to design some pages to cater to many blackberry users. Go figure!

I do development, so I have to use everything. For my personal pleasure browsing I use FF with the viewIE extension that lets me launch IE from inside FF when I run across a defective site that was developed by using MS code generators to create non-compliant code.

I totally agree....once I switched over to FF it made such a change in my system and the amount of time I spent removing crap ....I love FF and only use IE if I have to.
