How have you been trying to uninstall it? And I hope you're trying to do that from the Control Panel?

The one time I saw that on a friends computer malware was the cause. Just this morning a member posted this nice article for dealing with malware: http://www.v7n.com/forums/tech-suppo...move-them.html

Have you scanned for a virus or malware etc? Scriptman is right, sometimes malware and viruses can "control" an antivirus, especially when that virus cannot detect that its a virus / malware.

Try running malwarebytes. It's one of the best out there. Definitely sounds like a virus.

Are you having trouble opening any other programs?

If you still can't unstall it, you can delete the anti-virus folder in your "Program Files" and "Common Files". I wouldn't do it, unless you know what you are doing.

Is this problem still on going or has it been solved? What is the error message when the uninstall is attempted? Or better yet, what antivirus program is being talked about here?

Did you boot in safe mode to install the software? That is a very important step.

Have you tried running chkdsk?

My Computer > C Drive > Properties (right-click) > Tools > Check Errors > Tick To Automatically Fix Errors > Start

If it goes through this process without any errors, then, sorry to say friend, you will have to reformat your hard drive. Don't forget to back up your important files before you do.

Did you make sure to boot your computer into Safe Mode with Networking using the F8 key before attempting to download Malwarebytes? If you are not in safe mode when attempting to download the anti-virus/ant-Adware programs or use them to remove the hijacking program you will not be able to get it to work, the hijacker will have control...
