I don't currently own a tablet, but I plan to buy one in the near future. I found a Chinese brand that makes Android ICS tablets with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. It's not a Samsung or an Acer, so the build quality may not be as high, but it comes at a fraction of the price that people pay for those big brands.

Why?
How could you prefer a laptop if you didn't try a tablet yet?

I stay with just a laptop, no tablet for me. I would rather invest in a good laptop instead of spreading the money across to a tablet. Anytime I need to get online, a laptop is a vaiable option for me. I have never really desired the ultra-convenience of a tablet. I am sure it works well for a lot of people, but I prefer the laptop, with a good screen size and decent keyboard. However, I qualify my response by saying that I have never owned a tablet, so I may not know what I am missing out on.

Like some of you, I also do not not own a tablet; however, I do plan on purchasing one in the near future. I currently have a custom-built desktop pc at home for work, programming, and occasional gaming. I also own a netbook--from a couple years ago when it was still HOT! lol.

I have a MacBook, and I have 2 tablets.... a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ and an iPad. My husband also has an iPad. They are great for surfing while lounging on the couch or in bed, and watching movies on Netflix on the go. I also bring it with me in my car when I leave the house because several times I've had emergency situations come up with the site where I need to login and fix the database or some kind of error, and the tablet is sufficient for me to do that on the go. I use it for recreational things mostly...I know some people use them for work-related things, but I just can't get into it for that....I have to use my laptop. Oh, and my kids are obsessed with the iPad...my son plays ABC games and watches train videos on YouTube, and has some train games on it. My daughter likes the Elmo apps and YouTube.

I do not own a tablet and do not see myself getting one. I currently use my desktop while im at home, and my Android Phone while anywhere else. I guess I dont see a need for a tablet unless i am constantly away from home/want that kind of device.

I got an Ipad and its useful when you travel, because it has good game apps. As for productivity, it can be used for presentations etc. But I'd still go for a laptop, tablets are much more useful for occasional users because of the basic internet browsing etc.

I personally do not use tablets, I do not really like them, I mean they are cool and all, as they are the new technology, and I love everything to do with technology.... However, I am also an individual who has preferences...I do not like the whole touchscreen thing, I actually simply prefer touching a button and pressing it down.
As for laptop, I can most-definately type much quicker using a full-QWERTY keyboard than with a touchscreen tablet.
As for phone, I hate touchscreen phones and will never buy one...the phone I own now has a full-QWERTY keypad on it, which allows me to actually press a button on it.
As for Ipad, I will never buy one for myself, maybe as a gift to someone else, but I will never purchase one for my own personal use. I own an IPOD CLASSIC, yes the one with the button and wheel...and I will never purchase an IPOD TOUCH.
Much Thanks,
BiologyWebmaster

I recently bought iPod 32 GB and after using that now I'm planning for New iPad. It all started when new iPad released and I tried it at apple store. It is quite fascinating and worth to use too as it's browsing is even far better and also overall experience is also amazing. These tablets are more handy and fashionable as compared with laptops with brilliant speed, also they are easier to use with a far better than laptops and that's why I'm thinking to buy new iPad instead of a laptop.

I use any device for exploring Internet, including tablets. But I may say, that I feel more comfortable with my android phone, cause it's smaller and functional. If I meed more calculating power, I would prefer a laptop.

Would you kindly elaborate? I'd like to know why you think that way.

I have a tablet, but I only use it for pleasure and games. It is an Asus Eee Pad Transformer running on Android.
I think that Pc (or mac) are better if you want to work.
