Hey Everyone!
So i'm curious, whats YOUR setup? How do you go about your day to day both at work and home (and for you lucky ones who work from home freelancing, you especially)? I want to know each of your systems, tools, software, etc of how you get the job done!
..I've got a pretty varied setup, so i'll keep mine point form:
1.
Computer Name: "Inspire"
Role: Powerhouse, Multimedia Development
Type: Custom PC
OS(s): Windows 7 Ultimate (legit, oc.)
Hardware: cheap MSI mobo ($50, *sigh* needs an upgrade), Intel Q6600 quad, NVidia GTX 270, 3GB ram, 2x300GB 7200rpm HDD's, Samsung Syncmaster 2253LW + Viewsonic VA1912wb

Type: iMac 24" 2009
OS(s): OSX Lion, Ubuntu 10.04 (VMWare)
Hardware: stock iMac 2009 24" edition, its alright, more power than a laptop, more portable than my PC, best wifi EVER (Airport Extreme), awesome media centre and stream broadcaster
Tools:: Eclipse w/ PDT + Android SDK, VIM, MAMP, Adobe Production Premium w/o Flash stuff, FileZilla, Navicat Lite for Mac
3.
Computer Name: "Rockstar"
Role: File and Local Web Server

OS(s): Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" Server
Hardware: I don't even know.. has some decent ram and good HDD space but crap processor and a REALLY old Nvidia Quadro card.. PERFECT FOR A LINUX BASED SERVER!
Tools:: Samba, Gitorious, LAMP Stack, BIND9
4.
Computer Name: "Jaguar"
Role: Portable web and software development
Type: Toshiba Sattelite Laptop
OS(s): Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" Desktop
Hardware: I wont lie, its.. pretty bad, but has just enough power to alt+tab and switch desktops effectively, but youtube lags, so...
Tools:: LAMP Stack, Eclipse w/ PDT and Android SDK, MonoDevelop, Navicat Lite for Linux, Git, VIM, Sublime Text 2...
ya not a lot of software on thsi guy, but who needs it, right? haha
5.
Computer Name: "Vodka"
Role: Media Server and Guest Developer
Type: MacMini 2007
OS(s): OSX Snow Leopard
Hardware: Decent hardware for its time, was used originally for Final Cut Studio, has since been reformatted and refitted tho
Tools:: LibreOffice, MediaLink Media Server, GIMP and not much else. lol, meant for guests to come over and use a computer, do office work on, or otherwise help with graphics in GIMP on very particular projects
And my fiancée has a Laptop that I occasionally hop on and do work out of convenience, but I wont talk about that (for curious minds: its an HP Media Laptop)
This is all networked together with a custom configured Linksys e3000 router on a Shaw Extreme connection plan
*whew*
How about you guys? (I know im a little overboard lol I've worked for years to come up with an awesome team-scenario based multimedia development office, but its only ever me that uses this stuff haha)
