Google Drive

will be a competition for Skydrive? go through:

Quote:
Google Drive could be available to Internet users as soon as next week, based on details that have leaked today.

That appears to be very true now, along with some additional details to sweeten the deal. For example, instead of the earlier expected 1GB of free cloud space, each user apparently will be getting up to 5GB of free space on Google Drive.

Because everyone else is. Lol I suppose it's a major enterprise Cloud computing campaign aimed at Amazon and the like. If anybody has server capacity it must be Google.

From a personal angle though, I'm gonna look at it. I haven't done the Cloud thing yet. Haven't found anything seamless enough. Maybe Drive will be the answer for me.

Google knows that cloud computing is the future. Cloud computing is only going to start becoming more and more popular as more people start getting mobile devices. Who wants to transfer stuff between your phone, your tablet, your laptop, and your pc? The cloud syncs all of them in one central place.

Google is an internet giant and will grow and evolve with consumers to provide the most up to date features. Google Drive is just another way Google will try to make a greater impact online than it already has done.

Just noticed that hotmail is giving away 25GB of space at the moment. Must be trying to keep people from moving over to gmail. I have been using hotmail for a while but now with googles new storage space might think about move over.

I am still not comfortable with the security and data protection of Google's operation. Microsoft, though rigid, is still one of the better ones around in terms of data privacy.

It is important to keep your data safe with a trustworthy organisation or network.

I can't say for sure about Google Drive - but I have seen incidents of data privacy breached, originating from Google Mail services. Email were routed to the wrong recipient account.

Good thing about the Dropbox is that they have a mobile app to use for iPhone/BB/Android phones. I hope Google Drive will launch their own mobile app as well. Good thing about the Google Drive though is that they have a bigger free storage capacity of 5gb compare to Dropboxs' 2GB.

The second crash of my Google drive has now occurred.

Anyone know why it's crashing repeatedly?

I already signed up to give out my Google Drive Data.

I have no details. Google Drive just sends me a message saying that it's shutting down.

Presumably, this occurs during the automated SYNC?
