Things have a shelf life, or in this case use life. For want of a better word. For the same thing to be happening in windows
and linux shows that its not a problem with the software. You need to take a look at your mouse, your keyboard as well as the port (either where the infrared or bluetooth are plugged into). Do they work with infrared or bluetooth? I would check those as well.
Best way to do that is to swap. swap the mouse for a normal usb mouse, and see what happens. If nothing happens, swap the keyboard for a usb keyboard, and you could even add the wireless mouse again.
