Domain email solutions

My hosting company doesn't offer email service, so in order to have addresses such as "admin@mydomain.com" I need to sign up with an email service that allows it, and set up MX records on my cpanel. While Google apps has this I was wondering if any of you have experience with other email services that offer this?

I highly recommend Google Apps. It's the best. Secured and you got a huge email bag for free.

Seconded vote for Google Apps, my hosting company offered some crappy localised email (SquirrelMail or something), the real problem is searching, archiving and backup - Google Apps provides the best in terms of managing to keep track of everything, plus you get all the benefits of the rest of the App platform.

It's also supremely easy to set up with your domain, and they give plenty of advice on how to do it.

Your host runs cPanel but doesn't allow email? Wow. That's unusual.

As others have recommended, Google Apps is great even though they limit the "free" accounts to ten users. Hmm, I really don't know any other free service that offers as much as Google Apps. Even Microsoft's answer to Google Apps called Office 356 only offers a free trial.

Yes, it surprised the heck out of me...I am using Invision power board's service where they offer free use of their software included in the hosting service. It makes since for the moment to do it that way. I think their reasoning must be that forums tend to resource intensive and they don't want to have to deal with people bulk emailing. If the website takes off I will move it to a VPS or dedicated with a different company.

I did decide to go with Google, and I am quite pleased with it so far.

This should not be problem at all. All web hosting companies will narrate features that their hosting space can provide for you on their website. This is where you should have made decision whether the company is okay for you or not. Try to check the website of other hosting companies whether you can see one that solve the problem

That's really weird that your hosting provider doesn't provide email. Anyway, as everyone else said, Google Apps is your best choice.
