Which is the fastest browser?

I think speed is key to browsing. I currently use Firefox and Chrome but I'm looking for a faster browser. Is there one?

Although it's now out of date with the release schedules that so many modern browsers now take the best way to tell is with browser benchmarking, however I take everything with a discerning pinch of salt as browsers constantly change.

March 2012 Benchmark Results.

Google chrome took the place now.
Can't say if other ones will overtake it in future.

Chrome. No doubt about it. It's also equipped with great features, at least that's my opinion.

It depends on the OS you using. Generally chrome is fast.

Fast as in what? As far as UI responsiveness is concerned they are all somewhat the same (even though Firefox still have sometimes lags but they are working on it). Rendering is also rather equal among the browsers. Major differences still exist in Javascript execution.

Fast as in how long does it actually take to load webpages? (I know this depends on various factors within your computer as well as with broadband connection speed and so on.) I was using IE but it seemed to take ages. So i switched to Chrome and Firefox, which seemed noticeably faster. Now I was simply wondering if there was a faster browser than Chrome, all factors combined.

Backup your response with a reason why. You seem to keep forgetting to state a reason why when responding to threads.

Recently i tried Maxthon and amazed with the results. Pages were loading very fast. It even beats chrome and firefox. Maxthon is new, the interface is not that good but browsing speed is way better then other browsers.
