ARM Announces 64-Bit Processors Coming in 2014

I'd love to see this happen if the world doesn't come to an end this coming Dec. lol

ARM’s Cortex-A50 series of processors are based on the ARMv8 architecture and take what ARM describes as “a fresh approach to 64-bit compute.” These chips are designed to be low-power, which means they’ll be perfect for smartphones, tablets and beyond.

More than just consumer devices, ARM is also launching a Cortex-A50 designed for the server room. AMD has already signed on to license the Core-A50 series for its server technology.

And to think sometime in the mid 90's I was working on a sci-fi story where 64 bit processors were yet to be invented. Now the darned things will be in your phone.

64 bit processor, 8GB of RAM and a TB of storage, and we won't need laptops, just phablets. Galaxy Note 4?
