Powerpoint - Cycle Background
Is it possible to cycle backgrounds in powerpoint using templates? Possibly multiple masters...?
I need the following, where each letter is a background:
A
BCD
BCD
BCD
BCD
BCD
etc.
And creating manually would be stupid, time-consuming, and a waste of time.

Does anyone know of a good PPT forum? I looked around Google and wasn't impressed by the selection.

From the Format menu, select Background. Check the box that says "omit background items" and this will make the slide ignore the Slide Master's design. You can now add whatever design you want to this slide.
If you want to do this to many slides at once, go to the Slide Sorter, select the slides, and then use the Format menu command.
Keep in mind that if you choose to use an image as a background on many of your slides instead of doing it once on the Master, that your file size may increase dramatically.

Yes, this is what I ended up doing. But it's still a manual fix. If my coworker (who is using it, and would have difficulty with this background lingo) wants to add a new slide at the beginning or end, you can't just copy-paste the slide with the background.
Oh well. Thanks all who helped! I sent off the file as-is. It'll be okay.

If you create multiple templates yourself, you can do this. If you save all the templates in a specific directory you can apply a template theme to any or specific slides. Create a slide and save it as a *.pot (design template) file.
Click on the DESIGN button, select the slide you want to add a theme to (on left) and then right click the design on (on right) and select the "apply to selected slides" option. As you can see in the screenshot, you will see the templates used in this particular document.
