I use simple words+numbers, and i remember most of my passwords and sometimes i write them down, but the best thing i think is the same word with changing numbers.

I dont use any tools or password managers for passwords, as usual its on my mind and also i prefer this is more secured than using any other tools.

I never store my passwords anywhere. I remember them in my brain and change them every other six months. I also never share my passwords across more than two sites

And what did you do to the notepad that records your password? Hopefully no one would gain access on your account under a specific website while others are busy accessing their accounts.

I used to keep password with a common word and a blend of the registering websites short code. Cant use apps to access password every time anywhere. Also keep the backup with a excel sheet.

Good links Techwizard!

I would suggest the following also:

1. Ensure it is not an easily guessed password (such as "password")
2. At least 12 characters
3. Avoid the use of a password in multiple locations, as if one location is exploited then it will be exploited everywhere
4. Include upper, lowercase, and numbers if possible
5. Avoid repetition (such as aaaaaabbbbb for the password)

I pretty much think of a password that is a simple word in my own language but written in English letters and put numbers in in between it. That always got strong rating from registration forms as much as I tried so far.

My password is 68576ge65768 for everything. Keeps it simple.

JK

I use Roboform, although it sucks with Chrome. Just waiting for Chrome to stop putting that annoying message that I'm in advanced designer mode because roboform is installed.

I will say at least 10 characters with letters and numbers and you will be fine.

Well very well, its is very useful thread by discussing about the password management
I would like to save all of my password in mind and randomized at regular intervals, At first it seems very difficult for me to do, but i make a practice on keeping it in my mind.
I feel comfortable on it.

I prefer to use random characters, numbers, upper case letters and other. Of course long and complicated password is your friend. Beter be safe, but rememeber the password

More users are switching to password management system. It is too risky in these high times of security breaches to risk running redundant passwords anywhere. A password manger can be a big help when you need Upper case/ Lower Case/ Numerical/ Alpha and special characters to make your password long and strong. Don't risk hacks by using weak passwords, ever.

I have so many accounts and passwords to remember that I think I should start using a password manager.

I've been using Roboform for quite a while now, it has worked great and saved me more times than I can count...my passwords I normally always remember...the client's passwords and URLs not so much

The only bad thing about that is if one of the sites gets compromised then they can have access to everything instead of just the compromised site...

i.e. Same pass for Facebook for example as Twitter as Yahoo Mail or Google Mail....one site gets compromised they get your password then they can and will access all of those sites without a problem.
