What proof do you have that your computer has a virus? It seems like you don't have any anti-virus protection on your computer with the information you provided to us. If that's the case, this is a big no no and there can be more then just a virus on your computer that is effecting it in a major way.

First backup your important files, pictures...etc before you do anything else. This is just to protect your important stuff on your computer incase someone serious has to be done. A word of Advice from my years in the IT repair field is always backup your hard drive at least once a month because you never know when your computer will just totally die or the hard drive crashes.

I have one from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/External-Hard-.../b?node=595048 (not affiliate link)

There are lot of good anti virus programs out there and some people have there own valid reason's why they think a certain one is the best. This is good because if they backup there response in this thread it will help you choose the one that you could afford or even use a free one that is good but not that good.

Here is a free one to download to run a full system scan.

Here is the paid one I am using.

I agree with Snake Air are you not using an antivirus ?
How come a virus affected your pc and you didnt even get a threat call ?
Anyways as snake air said backup your data i would suggest shifting all of it on a portable hard disk and then format your drive completely and install an anti virus .
You can look up on google as for the most popular antivirus and get it .

Sorry for not seeing this earlier. Snakeair is exactly right about backing everything up. When possible it is best to always at least get back to were you started. I recommend making an image or picture of your computer to an external hard drive. I recommend Macrium Reflect that has a free version for home users. That way no matter what happens you can always put everything back to the way it is. When it comes to getting rid of a virus take a look at this post This process should have you clean. In almost all instances you don't need to do a full factory restore or format and have to reinstall all of your programs again.

Hey,

The best antivirus that has no comparison with any other is MALWARE ANTIMALWARE.

Just install it and you will never face any issues.

Other than removing temp files I don't see where the program does malware removal or cleaning??

By the way, I do not recommend optimization or registry cleaning type programs. If you must use one then cCleaner is the one recommended by most techs.
