What do you do to clean your computer temp files

I used cCleaner for years and I mean A Lot of years. I quit using it a little while back. I was getting tired of installing it and then having to turn around and uninstall it again.

A while back cCleaner got a massive change and started being installed as a service on your computer and running in the background. This is cool for some and not such a good thing for others. There's even a cloud based service I could offer if I chose to.

Windows has a built in feature called Disk Cleanup. It actually does a really good job at cleaning up temp files, debug dump files, cleaning out the recycle bin, even cleaning up system files like service pack backups, windows update files etc...I use it now instead of cCleaner. Nothing to install, it's already part of Windows and does a good job.

Sure I have to remember to run it on my own but it's better than adding yet another service and process that has to load and run in my Windows 7 work machine.

What do you use to clean up Windows files?

I use cCleaner and have done so for years. Most of the computer related articles and newsletters I read still recommend using it.

I still will in writing to to be honest LoL. Like I said, have used it for a lot of years and even still toying with the idea of offering it on cloud service a part of membership on the newer systems but I just found that lately I am tired of uninstalling it every time and though it's clunkier the Windows cleaner does a really good job and I don't have to uninstall it or disable the startup process.

The older systems that I do that can't go through a factory reset or Windows reinstall due to some software that is being preserved and can't be reinstalled I find I'm not wanting to add services/processes to the already not the best environment.

Disk diskup will free up the memory but not to a greater extend. It wont clean all the dumb files. If you want your browser and computer to give optimal performance i recommend you to use cccleaner on a daily basis. I use cccleaner every day EOD. When every time i run the scan it cleans nearly 1 GB. not to mention, I am a heavy internet user.

I had also used cCleaner in the past and it is the best free PC cleaner, but now I'm using Glary Utilities, which is available free for personal use. Along with the Disk cleaner it has more feature that improves my PC performance.

Yeah you are

Don't get me wrong, not saying that cCleaner is a bad program, it isn't by any means.

I'm using cCleaner but it seems that this software couldn't free up much space. Maybe It's time for me to find another one.

Good day! As for me, I simply run my anti-virus as it has this feature to remove temp files, deleted files, and even cache files in my PC...

I use Quick Heal Total Security Antivirus Software. It takes care of all my junk files and lets me do defragmentation as well.

I use trend Micro: Dr Cleaner for my mac. Not sure if it's available for Windows. It does a pretty good job. Apart from being a file cleaner, it also acts as memory optimizer. Very handy function for low RAM machines.

Run command prompt.. which is Windows button + R button.. type %temp% in it and press enter.. a new window will open with many files. Just select all the files with CTRL + A and press Delete button.
