Based on my experience working as a technical support representative before, I would have to say PC running slow due to different causes and second would have to be virus-related issues... A lot of my callers came from the US and most of their problems usually sum up to these 2 issues...

A lot of slow computers due to issues like Windows Update gone Rogue using up most or all of the processor (Most popular in Win 7) it is true just to name one popular non-malware issue. There are of course many MANY others non-malware related. Though some of the rouge services have done so due to damage from malware too so could say 6 one way half a dozen the other a lot of times. Many antivirus programs are also a big contributor to a slow computer

This is true. And you also mentioned about AV's contributing to slow PC issue, this is also true since I found out that most of my callers were not fully aware that a computer won't function well if there's 2 or more antivirus softwares being installed. I guess they kinda cling into the idea that the more AV's installed, the better the protection which is not actually the case since they will just "conflict" with each other... Thank you for your insight!

I think it would be about getting annoying pop ups while browsing the web. In my experience most of the adware programs primarily target USA & Canada and most of the time pop up ads just mislead the consumer. And worse, today's pop ups are so advance they can even lock the web browser, leaving no way for the user to close the browser window.
