How to Install (and Run) Android on PC

This is an interesting find in my RSS feed reader. Obviously this article was written to promote Remix OS to install Android on a PC but this part caught my eye:

How to Install (and Run) Android on PC

There are a number of older PCs under the desks here. Might be worth a try? What to you think?

Good for hobbyists. But hard to say whether or not there are performance issues . There seems to be a lack of good reviews out there. This slightly dated review indicates that it's too unstable for daily use. http://www.pcworld.com/article/30222...ng-system.html

Thanks for taking the time to look this up vaguar. Guess the old machines will still collect dust for a while until I have nothing better to do than spend a day playing.

No problem! I'd have tried out something like this myself a few years ago. I have an old dell laptop from my college days lying around somewhere in the house. But hobbies & priorities change as time goes by!

i am using bluestack desktop application to use android from PC. You can install all google play store apps and games to enjoy android in desktop.

Yes, after installing bluestack also in PC, i have slow speed issue with my pc. But, i think, this may not be solved, until apps develop do some improvements in application.

On my end, I do think its quite stable and not buggy at all. In fact, I've been using Remis in one of my laptops so that I could play Vain Glory in my PC. Definitely, it feels like I'm playing a MOBA game in my PC. However, it might not be due to issues on the OS but some games don't run mostly because the game itself can detect if its not a mobile device. I hope someone could probably bypass or mask this so as to enable some games.

If someone has a PC laying around that they are putting out to pastor it may be worth it to do. I don't know as I would install it on an active PC. With duel boot one could boot into either Windows or Remix but again a bit of an effort I think....

As already mentioned using an Android Emulator like NOX is what I actually do

Having a bootable USB that you can put into to boot to when you want to run Android would be ok. But unless it is a second computer that I'm not going to use for anything else I don't know as it would be something I would do.

I run NOX and use the Multi-Drive so that I can pull up games or programs on both gmail accounts at the same time...hint*** handy for what used to be called multiboxing(back in the Everquest days) android games

================================================== =================

Just an opinion...BlueStack is not the emulator to pick...bulky and spammy...NOX gives great options and performance without the heavy spam or prompt to pay a subscription for use

I have tried RemixOS, but I found Bluestack is better than this.
Even you can use playstore like your Android device.

The software looks weird and takes a long time to install. What I find weirdest is that this software is for win 64 bit but only requires 8gb system LOL
Or i wrong?

Bluestack is the most popular android emulator on pc. To tell the truth, i don't like this emulator. It will make your pc sluggish in case of insufficient Ram. nox, Andy, Memu are much better
