Help to Stop Spam from Website
Recently I've been receiving a TON of spam emails to my email connected to my website. My website does have a contact form connected to my email so I assume this is how they are getting my email. Has anyone ever run into a similar issue? Does anyone have any recommendations on how to help control this issue (preferably free options but open to paid ones)

If it's a web form, try using a captcha. If they've scraped your email address from another part of the site (or someone else's site) there isn't a whole lot you can do.
I've come across this issue with clients telling them that using a live email addy on the site is good - but - the bots scan site pages for "mailto" in the code or similar, then they capture that info, keep it for themselves, or sell it to others that want to spam us all to death!

If you are using wordpress
"Spam" is a problem occurred when we get some popularity than some want to connect with those.
If you are running WordPress then you have to use premium spam plugin.
Thank you!

redirect
I have the "author@mysite.com" email link redirect to a gmail account (which now gets a lot of spam).
All they can scrape is the email that is a redirect and I have the option of changing the redirect pointer to a different account and/or changing the name of the "email" that does the redirect.

For my site, I face a lot of issues with the Comment SPAM. So, I completely removed it in order to decrease the load on the page. You can use Captcha to block SPAM on your site or atleast remove URL field from comment. This will atleast stop manual spam on your website.
If you have a WordPress blog, use Akismet Plugin to stop SPAM comments. It works effectively.

Login to your Google Analytic account.
Click Admin.
Click All Filters.
Give the filter a name.
Select Predefined.
Select 'Exclude', 'traffic from IP addresses' and 'that are equal to' in the boxes below.
Enter the IP Address that you wish to exclude, and then click Save.

Some of these forms have your true email address to be visible via html source code. Make sure to review your website's html source to see if that's true.
If so, you should consider alternate solutions for email contact forms.

I've made a proxy email address and put that down on my website. Anyone who wants to scrape and spam to it is welcome to do so!

If ur using Wordpress u could try the free Akismet. In my tests when i had a free for all form box i noticed it stopped 100% of the spam posts. At least for my case.
Alternatively, you could set up a filter system to prevent folks from typing urls in the box, and spam words e.g. "Pharmacy, genetal enhancements"

As others said, use captcha (Google recaptcha with an API key is best).
Otherwise, try replacing your on-page email links with images instead. That or write then on to the page with javascript a few seconds after page-load.
