Having a long wait for windows to find your flash drive?

If you are experiencing a long wait for windows to find your flash drive, there is a simple cure.

Simply tell your AV program not to scan removable media and windows should respond immediately when you insert a flash drive.

I was going out of my mind with this issue until I discovered the problem. I even threw away couple of small card readers.

Warning: You may not want to do this in a public environment like the office where people might bring media from outside the work place.
