You have to be kidding me right! - lol!
Everyone who has spent years in the industry knows fully well that you don't touch a MS OS until it has been fully tested within the wild for at least a year and the bugs are ironed out... It looks good but will give it just a touch longer until I make the switch..

You're right Izzmo!
You've opened my eyes! What was I thinking? I'm going to run out right now, in my underwear, whiped-cream on my head and a pencil sticking out of my ass and buy me Vista!!!
Thank you, Izzmo! Thank you for being so honest with us all!

Just doing my job!
But since you want to be a wise guy, why do you not want to make the switch? Give me one reason, and I bet I can prove you wrong with Vista.
I'm not saying Vista is all and mighty better than XP, because it isn't. There are downsides, but you need to think of this: Microsoft spent 4+ years developing Vista, and they definitely had some bugs, but what doesn't? SP1 has made it all better, for those of whom seem to always get themselves into weird situations.

I never said "I didn't want to make the switch". Valid or not, your argument is moot.
There's no reason to hijack a thread and start yelling at people about what you want them to do.

Not yelling, just making a bold point: There is no reason to still be using XP, unless you just can't afford Vista. Either way, you shouldn't be complaining about Vista, which most of you XP'goers still do event though the majority have never used it, and then turn around and say they still want some stuff in XP fixed! Now, that's pretty bad. So, what I said above, the fix to XP? Vista.

As I can see vista is cheaper than windows xp. Also vista have too many issue, very slow. If you buy any new hardware make sure you got vista compatible.
I tried vista on 2 pc but that is crap. Only good thing is graphics.

Vista is terrible... I'd rather go back to Windows 98 than go to Vista. Microsoft themselves have even subtly admitted that they are pushing work on "Windows 7" because the deployment of Windows Vista has gone so poorly.
Now in reply to the actual topic - I have a friend who has been running XPSP3 for some time and has no problems with it. I however, have not installed it yet. I'll do so though today and post my feedback if you'd like!

I have to say that I, too, have heard this many times. I have been waiting for the dust to settle on Vista before even thinking about putting on our machines.
My track record is Windows 98 (not even 98SE) then straight to XP. I didn't touch anything in between.
Not sure what I'll be doing now. Whether to still think about installing Vista or wait to see what happens with Windows 7.
We live in interesting times........

XP SP3
As most of you probably MS delayed the release of SP3 for Win XP. The problem primarily lay with business types of installation. I found a link and downloaded SP3 to my notebook. It is a 316mb download. The installation was a breeze and took around 20 minutes. No ill effects noticed but I purposely installed on my notebook and not my primary PC so as to not take any chances.

See my other post. MS actually withdrew it but I found a link and downloaded and installed it on my notebook. Went like a charm and took about 20 minutes.
