First computer you had.
- What was the first computer you had.
- What use did you put it to.
- How long did you own this computer.
Fist computer for me was a Dell 8400 1GB HD (can't remember the processor) and I had it for 7 years and used it for web designing, and 3D graphic technology.

You know, I was so little when my family had our first computer, I can't even remember what it was. My dad had one before I was born in the early 1980s. I remember us having one, and he played some games on it and other stuff. I've always had a computer growing up.

Mine was the Acorn Atom. It took tapes... So I didn't do much with it and it was pretty old when I got it. It was a hand-me-down.

Wow! I was around for that but don't remember that computer.
My first home computer was a Commodore Vic-20
Just look at that awesome spec sheet! I played games mostly as that was all it was really good for. lol
However, the first computer I ever used was a Digital PDP-11
Yes, I'm old!

I think around 87-88 I bought an Apple 2 off my uncle. I had that for all of about 5 months before I killed it.
Then around 95 i got a Toshiba laptop. I can't remember the model but it had the orange monochrome screen. It was another hand-me-down.
Then I splurged around 99 and built my first computer. A whopping 750mhz! (:

I had a Commodore 64. Man, just looking at the pics of the thing brings back waves of nostalgia <sniff>
I used it for playing games, usually Beachhead, Impossible Mission and Elite. My mate used it for programming in Basic - what a geek!! Had it for about three years. I upgraded from tape to 5 1/4in floppy disk. The external disk drive cost me $350!!!!
Should have kept it. I'd still be using it to play Elite. Sigh. I miss that game....

I found a full C64 setup (floppy drive, 1702 monitor, a bunch of disks) at a yard sale once. For $10 it was mighty tempting, but knew it would just end up in a box in the closet...
So much for nostalgia! lol

Hehehe.. I actually downloaded it myself, and it works fine. Except their copy of JumpMan was a bad .zip. Couldn't unpack it. That was my all time favorite game. I bought like 5 copies of it as I kept wearing out the disks from overuse... lol

I also had a Commodore 64 - with disc drive, which was huge when I got it.
Yep played games too. "Raid Over Moscow" is the only title I can remember, but I had quite a few games. I still have the original discs and covers somewhere.
I learnt a little bit of Basic. Good for text adventure games and things like "Dr Theopolis" which could be very funny.

Well my first computer was the Athlon 40gb. I still have it, I'm actually using it right now. Running Win98se, it's a 486. I use it to create my own original music. From 'Pre' to 'Post' production. I write, produce, edit and master.

Radio Shack Color Computer. No hard drive or floppy drive. Had to write my own programs, and save them on tape.
