Yes there has been a PR update for top PR sites. The PR of all directories including Aviva, GII etc have been cut down. Some high PR sites have gone down too.

There has been no update for regular websites. But it looks like that could happen soon too.

I am really wondering how come John did not thought about removing those links on the sidebar of the directory. You might think that he should not care about PR, but since it is a directory and many care about the PR of a directory he should have thought about that it would have had an impact on the revenue that the directory was generating for him.

I don't know if the revenue has been hit as well for him, but from what I see is that the conversations have decreased for v7n directory from my side.

Clush Directry got hit pretty hard as well. They used to be PR7 with almost all internal pages at PR5 or PR6. I have 10+ sites in there at $19.95 @ - now the internal pages are PR3 or PR4

Google is really starting to tick me off. Even my DMOZ listings pages went down in PR. It only took me two years to get my sites listed

I feel like I was raped because the sites I worked the hardest on over the last three years, spent thousands of dollars on buying quality directory submissions are all now PR3 instead of PR5.

Not to mention the $5K in Adwords that turned me absolutely zero, plus the hits Google claimed they sent me were not showing up in my logfiles.

Not only that>>
Bigweblinks droped from PR7-Pr4
aviva & alive directory droped to Pr 4
directorydump Droped to PR4 ..it's really a heck!!

SERPs however remain almost unaffected according to my analysis.

I suppose you mean "conversions".

I don't see a decline so far. Who knows. I do not run my business based on Google's paranoia. I run it based on my own convictions.

Great sentiment John. I haven't seen a decline in SERPs or conversions since the PR update and I personally don't give a rip about PR. Then again, I've never based my websites' existence on Google because to do so would be hoplessly futile considering their flitty nature.

PR has no direct connection to SERP. SERP is the most important. I prefer to have a high SERP position than to have a high PR.

I observed that also that there is a decrease of page rank eventhough the page rank ends. I think there is a fluctuation of page rank that's why the changes is still in progress. I agree to x3mario that SERP is much important than page rank

Thats right, sorry. I was referring to the conversions , it is fair enough that your business does not live on Google's paranoia, unfortunately most people that do submit into directories do it only because of the PR of the directory or the category they are going to get listed. Maybe they should have more informations on the benefits of directory submission and that they should not relay to PR only as it is most probably a unstable measure to value a site or directory.
