Ok, Cricket. I'd like to address this post but will wait a few days or whenever things have calmed down. Or I may PM you my response.

Sorry, just trying to help.

I do understand the bigger fish to fry however, running a forum is never easy especially if it's one of this size.

No Cricket, thank you for your hard work.

Personally I rarely reach 200+ posts at other forums so the fact I've done it here means either I'm completely oblivious or you guys are doing something right.

Is it just the display total that has reduced or have the actual posts (possibly containing valuable info for the forum at large) of members gone away?

If you read back you will see that it was a spam folder.

I did read that, but I understood that deleting the spam folder is what caused the deletion of these other posts in question. So what you're saying is that say in Atom's case, those 12,000 or so posts were in the spam folder? If so, then I have to agree, I can't see any value in a resurrection.

A few years back we had an all day posting contest in the community. 99% of those threads ended up being of no value to the community. Stuff like that was pruned to that specific spam forum quite some time ago. We simply deleted the forum all together, which impacted post counts. Again, I am working with our IT guys on a possible solution, but quite honestly it is not high on the priority list right now. (bigger fish, yada, yada, yada . . .)

Can this be done for individual members? Say just Atom for example? In forum world, 32,000 posts is quite an accomplishment.

No, if I do it for one, I have to do it for all. Again, if we could maybe let this slide for right now, I would appreciate it. It is a holiday weekend that has already started for many and there is just a ton going on right now. As soon as possible, I will be working with IT as to possible solutions, one of which may be to leave things as they are.

Did someone say we're having fish?

(Posts just like this one ensured that I got my post count cut in half)

What is it that the French say, Julien? C'est la vie.

Cricket, dear, I still am not trying to rush you, but I would like to make a suggestion, I think that your IT guy should consult John Scott before doing another update, John has done updates in this forum for years without so much as a single post count disruption.

Don't get mad at me, this is a serious suggestion.
