Thread bumping

I just signed up here, I looked through the rules, and three pages of threads in this Support forum, and I didn't see the answer to my question.

Is there a rule on thread bumping by posting relevant information, or asking a similar question? If so, what is that rule?

If this has been explained elsewhere, please take pity upon me and direct me to the appropriate place. Feel free to ridicule me with "facepalm" and flaming "n00b" comments, or anything else that was funny back in 2006.

Thanks.

Once the last comment in a thread is 90+ days old, a highlighted warning is posted above the reply box which says . . .
Quote:
This thread has not had a reply in more than 90 days. It's recommended that you create a new thread.
If a member chooses to disregard that notice and post a reply anyway, it is left to moderator discretion to determine if there is an issue or not.

P.S. In the Webmaster Marketplace, thread bumping is a whole different story. Is that what you are referring to?
