Junior member / contributing member / moderator is just like ranks in the military ( sergeant / captain ) but we rank ourselves otherwise here.
Those green bars are like reputation you earned around the forum. The more green bars you have, means you contributed a lot and are well-known/respected in the forum.
Full information? Try look around for an article in the FAQ.

Can't add much more to what yAd519 has said.

Your level of membership is based on the number of posts you have.

Moderators and Super Moderators are appointed by the Admin. They watch what is going on in the forum and take action as necessary when someone is out of line.

Edit:
Did a search of the FAQs
Quote:
What Are Moderators?
Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other manipulations. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.

When the number of your post under 30 you are a junior member,30-50 is a member and after 51 you will be a contributing member.
I think modereter or super modereter based on their performance.
