General Question For Moderators

I was wondering one thing. There have been a couple of threads where I have wanted to help someone find ways to get backlinks, and I have posted a helpful link for them to add to their tools in their arsenal, but every time I do, you guys delete the post. I have seen other people on these forums who have complained about the same thing.

Any reason to this? The links that I have posted is not related to any BlackHat techniques and they are not affiliate links, so why have they been deleted? I have also started threads that try to help people with different links that are deleted too.

I just want to know if I am breaking any rules, and I'm not trying to start an argument, just want to know why?

Opening a thread to drop links to your own sites is less helpful than you might think, which is why it isnt allowed. Nothing personal, we enforce that rule pretty regularly.

But I wasn't promoting my own site. It was a site that helps people find .edu and .gov blogs

Starting threads to drop our link is a known taboo in pretty much any legitimate webmaster forum. You did it anyway, multiple times, in the same day. Your presence is proof you arent being singled out for ill treatment. It does however tend to reduce your credibility when you start dropping another link in multiple spots. If you want the benefit of a doubt, try following the rules up front.
