V7 Mods are Quick-Draw Efficient!

Holy cow, my new thread was deleted within 2 minutes!

This is in no way a rant or flame, I actually see that efficiency as a great thing. All too many forums are trashed by having inactive mods. The deletion of my thread was 100% my fault and fully expected. I was posting a site design for review after having scouted out a number of forums in which to do this. I made the mistake of thinking I was posting to a different forum therefore broke ALL the rules -- No "Review" prefix, omitted the full link path and on top of that hadn't previously offered reviews for 3 other sites. Funny thing is I noticed it almost immediately after submitting the post so headed directly into edit mode to apologize and lay my head on the block only to find the thread was already locked and being chucked out with the baby and bath water.

Again, I apologize to the thread mod and users/visitors.

I do have one observation. As I'm not qualified in the least to offer up any truly worthwhile critique of websites beyond a very generic view the requirement of having to review 3 sites prior to posting to the "Website Review" forum seems a bit odd from my perspective. I could see how someone either in the business of website design or an enthusiast could be helpful with constructive criticism but I would simply have a feeling of being in-genuine or inadequate with my offering. I may give it a shot though and then see if I can't slip through a properly formatted site review request.

Keep up the great work of forum housekeeping!

Believe it or not, those without extensive web experience give the best reviews because they are not certain how a site is supposed to be but they know if the site gives them trouble finding things and above all they know how a site makes them FEEL.

I'd suggest reading a few other people's reviews to get a feel for what's considered a quality review here at v7n. While you don't need to write a lengthy critique, a bit more than just saying "Looks good" is expected.

Above all, don't feel intimidated; we mods don't bite (well, not too often anyway).

The mods are quick to give out infractions and even suspend accounts. I have been banned a few times, but I keep coming back. Why? Because V7N is one of the few webmaster forums that is not filled with low quality posts and spam.

The forum is well organized and they do not want members posting duplicate threads. Make sure to read the guidelines for each of the forum sections regarding Titles, self-promotion, etc. and you will be fine.

Each of my temporary suspensions gave me ample time to reflect on what rules I broke and how to adjust my behavior to better add to the community.
