TBH, I've never felt all that comfortable participating in the Market Place contests - except for the ones put forth by v7n. In the rare instance that I'd win, the thought of giving a total stranger in a forum my PayPal info, which also contains personal info, gives me the willies. Plus, who's to say they'd even pay me? They could vanish off the face of the earth, with my hours of work in their possession.
Now something like
this happens, and I
really don't want to participate anymore. I'm concerned that many others may feel as I do - which means the contest part of the forum could die.
Because of what's going on in the thread I posted above, and in light of other instances of
potential fraud, is there some sort of check that can be run on every person who wants to post a contest? Once they've passed their check, they can then be given an authorization number to use here, to prove to us that they aren't a scammer.
