'Unable to save image' error for sig image
Hi - new here.
I'm trying to upload an image for image signature, and I keep getting an 'Unable to save image' error.
I've tried different file formats (gif, png, jpg), all being under the size limit (each is about 80x80, and under 10K).
I've tried uploading from my PC, and I've put the images on my web site and tried specifying the path.
Always the same error. Ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

It's possible the folder for signatures isn't chmod correctly, I will check.

I was able to upload that wacko smiley in my sig, so things should be good to go now.

That's because your sig permissions probably allow it. Sig images aren't allowed for most.

For example, I just posted BBcode with img tags in my sig area, but a link is displayed instead because my sig permissions are set to not allow images in my sig.

The folders still needed to be chmod correctly. Thanks for pointing that out btw.

Oh and a "sigpic" is not the same as bbcode img tags, it's a different thing entirely. A picture gets uploaded within the sig area, check below your sig editor.

Yeah, I did, Colleen. That's how I know that it's not possible for me to have a sig pic without a permission change, which, BTW, I don't want, incidentally. lol

BTW, I did check below my sig editor, and did not see a thing about sigpics.

I checked and can confirm all members can use "sigpics", which isn't the same as bbcode images, so check below your editor in the signature editor area to see what I mean.

I checked and can confirm that my sig permissions are not set to display a pic of any kind, Colleen.

Allow Code BBCode Yes
Allow PHP BBCode Yes
Allow HTML BBCode Yes
Allow Quote BBCode Yes
Allow Smilies No
Can Upload Images for Signature No

Maximal number of links in signature: 2
That's what I've been trying to tell you. And it should be that way for all members except admins, shouldn't it?

I can't remember how sig permissions were set for mods, but as I remember, it can be changed by them.

Yes Atom, that is correct. We do not allow images within the signature.

Ok, thank you, Cricket. I thought I was going crazy there for a while.
I'm thinking there may be a chmod problem as well, and that may be what's causing some confusion.

Guys, you're not understanding me, this isn't about putting an img tag in the sig, it's about the [sigpic][/sigpic] tags, it's totally different.
I run a vbulletin forum, so I know all about this and I checked the settings here, you can use a SIGPIC NOT an IMG tag.....
Two entirely different things here......
Atom, "sigpic" is actually a vbulletin bbcode, an actual word, not us simply calling an image in the signature a "sigpic".. It's literally a built-in vbulletin function.
Perhaps someone will come along to explain but I got to run and ain't no good at explaining, I did my best here.

Well I never heard of a sigpic before. Ok sorry, Colleen, and thanks for the info.
