Is it Legal to copy the content of this WEBSITE?

If a website has the following copyrights law. Is it legal for me to copy the contents from their site and use it on my site?

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/

That is up to you. Some people do it some don't.

As long as you put on the bottom (or somewhere in your post) Source, found at, obtain from, . . . . with the site you got it from. Then you are fine. Because your reporting it then.

If you really want to mess with them put at the beginning: Sources say, claims (something like that) and change the wording. This blows because you have to re-write the article in your words.

The one thing nobody says who claims copyrights on an article is they must notify you that you have taken their work and they want it removed. First before they can take action. If you do get a notice I suggest you pull it . . . quickly.

Also who in their right mind would tell you to pull it if you have a back link to their site?

It is not illegal but you can change some lines and modify with yourself.
some times coincidently someone read your site and after some time he got that site whose content same as your site. it creates negative impression.

Copying content from another site is no-no but with some exceptions as corneo have mentioned. Particularly, if a content is copyrighted never use them to your site. You should just create your own content. Better that way.

Google don't allow this copy and paste if content. They penalized sites for copying their content from other sites.

If this was true, then this site would never rank on google. site (it's a very popular site)
Maybe this site wouldn't be around if it was true.

As long as you give credit to whom wrote it, your fine. Back link to the site who wrote it is better.
If the site has all over it, "do not copy" then you have to re-write it in your own words like a reporter for a news paper would have to do.

If you use photo's then say "source of photo (who ever)"

Blogs do this all the time.

Another suggestion how to get content:

1. go to your local library and get a few books on the subject that you are going to cover on your website (if it's travel, then get some travel guides).

2. Read those books.

3. Re-iterate in your own words.

your idea is good but it ill take a lot of time.

and there is an another fact

if it is legal to make an article on my own after reading those books then why it is illegal to read a web content and make some changes on my own for my site.

I've done it, and speaking from my experience
it takes much less time than searching the web for bits and pieces.
A good book probably will be 300 pages of pure content. All you need it to punch it into a computer, and while you punching just change it some. That's it.

yeah, if you modify it, to look completely different than them, then its legal,

notice they don't have a copyright sign for the template,

but for the website itself

One of your many concerns should be the search engines

They see duplicated content right away as their databases record/store everything

you not being the first will be seen in the negative

Legal? Yes.

Legit? No.

Paraphrase, my friend.
