Need help on editing

Good day! I'm Jen, I'm quite a newbie in web design so need some help from experienced developers. I've got a template from Flashmint.com, have a look at it http://www.flashmint.com/show-template-2248.html and don't know how to edit it...I want to add some text, maybe it's not that difficult but for me it's just an ordeal!

you might try dreamweaver, or some other editor that has code/design views. this helps a ton, especially when first starting out...

you might try to set the W3C School's website as your browser's homepage first. Obviously you need to learn how html/css works before jumping to customize a template that you don't even know how to edit. (no offense)

I disagree... Depending on how a person is wired (how they learn things), it might be better to get one's hands dirty before reading pages and pages of guides/tips with no point of reference.

So start editing the template, and search the web for solutions to issues that you come across.

I do say so... doesn't mean I'm right, but there are generally 2 types of people: those that learn by doing and those that learn by reading.

From the page you included in your link above:

Photo studio full screen XML flash template

Then over on the side it says:

Files: FLA,HTML (no html version included if flash site), PSD,SWF
Software: Adobe Flash CS3 or higher;
To uncompress ZIP package:
WinZip 9+ (Windows);
Stuffit Expander 10+ (Mac);
Adobe Photoshop CS+

So looks like, according to this info, you need Flash CS3 and Photoshop CS+ to edit this template.
