On site search function

Hey all.

I am looking at options for adding a search function to a site. It's a small site with less than 50 pages, so I am looking for something very stripped out (just a form field and a button).

It seems like many people add google onsite search to their websites but I really don't want to have the "powered by google" logo (or any other logos besides my own) hanging around, and don't want people to be able to "search the web" from my site.

The less sponsored results that appear the better...

Any thoughts?

What do you want to search, then?

Only your own pages?

if your data that you want to search is stored in a database, then implemented a search page would be just as easy as saying hi! Simple, clean and totally missing the "powered by google" logo

Probably google is the best way for you. Otherwise you have to do lot of work on database, programming etc.

Your answers are definitely in conflict.

But would have to support Costin. @webcosmo, the OP mentioned it already that he doesn't want the 'powered by google' hanging on his site then you're suggesting it again? You absolutely didn't understand the concern.

@OP, this can be done through PHP/MySQL. Just work on the search script code on your database (if you know PHP).
